Sandboard Pioneer & Sandboard Guru, Lon Beale aka Doctor Dune is often noted as the inventor of modern sandboarding. “I took an interest in sandboarding in 1972 and founded Dune Riders International in 1995 to help govern competition sandboarding. Since my first day on a sandboard I have continued to this day. Much of my life has been dedicated to advancing, promoting and sharing this sport with all who are interested.”
Sandboarding is a wonderful activity. It has some of the best aspects from snow boarding, skate boarding as well as surfing. Sandboarding is inexpensive, available year round, enviro friendly, healthy and a whole lot of fun! If you like board sports in general you’re going to love sandboarding.
